Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy ("Policy") outlines the permitted and prohibited uses of BambooSIM's connectivity services.

BambooSIM requires users to follow applicable laws and uphold community standards when using our services. This Policy clarifies our expectations, which align with those of the global internet and mobile network community.

By using or continuing to use our services, you agree to comply with the practices and obligations described in this Policy.

1. Applicability

1.1 This Policy applies to you and any users covered under your account ("Covered Users"). You are responsible for:

  • Informing all Covered Users about this Policy, including any updates or changes.
  • Agreeing to this Policy on behalf of all Covered Users.

1.2 This Policy is part of the BambooSIM Terms of Service. All terms not defined in this Policy are as defined in the Terms of Service.

2. Prohibited Activities

2.1 BambooSIM services may only be used for lawful purposes. The following behaviours, considered illegal, abusive, or irresponsible, are strictly prohibited:

  • Sending or facilitating unsolicited bulk emails or mailing lists.
  • Interfering with data systems, networks, or communications systems.
  • Monitoring data or traffic on any network or system without authorisation.
  • Using misleading or deceptive information in email or newsgroup headers.
  • Using internet accounts or computers without the owner's authorisation.
  • Distributing software that delivers ads without user consent or that cannot be easily removed.
  • Deploying any software or code that covertly gathers or transmits user information.
  • Collecting or using personally identifiable information without authorisation (e.g., phishing, scamming, scraping).
  • Gathering or using unauthorised financial or health data.
  • Engaging in any conduct likely to trigger retaliation against BambooSIM, such as causing a denial-of-service attack.

3. Bandwidth and Data Usage

3.1 BambooSIM's roaming data services are intended for general mobile internet access while travelling. The following uses are prohibited:

  • Uploading or downloading excessively large files
  • Engaging in continuous, prolonged background transfers of non-viewable media.
  • Continuous streaming of data (except for multimedia actively in use by the user).
  • Using eSIM-enabled devices as data routers or proxies for multiple devices (except for typical Wi-Fi hotspot usage).
  • Using Wi-Fi hotspots to provide internet to stationary devices for prolonged periods.
  • Using BitTorrent or other peer-to-peer (P2P) file-sharing networks.

4. Security Research & Responsible Disclosure

4.1 We welcome good-faith security research under our Vulnerability Disclosure Policy. You may probe, scan, or test in-scope BambooSIM assets solely to identify vulnerabilities, provided you:

  • follow the VDP’s scope, rules of engagement, and safe-harbor terms;
  • avoid privacy violations, service degradation, data exfiltration, or persistence;
  • do not conduct denial-of-service, spam/credential-stuffing, social engineering, or physical attacks; and
  • stop testing and report immediately if you access non-public or customer data.

Testing of out-of-scope systems or any activities prohibited by the VDP remains not permitted without BambooSIM’s prior written authorization. Please report suspected vulnerabilities to [email protected] (PGP available); we will acknowledge, triage, and remediate in line with the VDP.

5. Newsgroups, Chat Forums, and Networks

5.1 You must comply with the rules of any forums, newsgroups, or networks in which you participate while using our services.

6. Offensive and Inappropriate Content

6.1 Content that is illegal or violates BambooSIM's community standards is strictly prohibited, including but not limited to:

  • Content related to child abuse, bestiality, or non-consensual acts.
  • Content inciting violence, hate speech, or harassment.
  • Deceptive content under consumer protection laws, such as chain letters and pyramid schemes.
  • Defamatory content or content that violates privacy.
  • Content that jeopardises public safety or health, national security, or any law enforcement investigation.
  • Content that reveals trade secrets or proprietary information without authorisation.
  • Promotion of illegal drugs, illegal gambling, or trafficking.
  • Content that is malicious, fraudulent, or likely to provoke retaliation against BambooSIM.

7. Intellectual Property

7.1 You may not use BambooSIM's network or services to distribute or display any copyrighted or legally protected material without explicit permission from the owner, unless authorised under established intellectual property laws.

8. Use of Assigned Identification

8.1 Only use IP addresses assigned to you by BambooSIM for service access.

8.2 If any IP address assigned to you becomes listed on an abuse database, you will be in violation of this Policy. BambooSIM reserves the right to suspend or terminate service to protect our network, regardless of whether your actions caused the listing.

8.3 Do not register for services under a false name or use unauthorised payment methods.

9. Enforcement and Violations

9.1 Violation of this Policy may result in the immediate suspension, interruption, or termination of your service, as determined solely by BambooSIM. BambooSIM reserves the right to act without issuing prior warnings or undergoing any formal process if you violate this Policy.

10. Amendments

10.1 BambooSIM reserves the right to amend this Policy at any time. Any changes will be effective within fourteen (14) days of posting on our website or upon your continued use of the services, whichever is later. We encourage you to review this Policy periodically for updates.
