A large allowance answers how much data you can use. It does not guarantee stable calls at a particular Canggu villa, Ubud room or Uluwatu café. Choose the plan and the backup workplace together.

Compare the final price for your selected currency and duration in the live Indonesia plan table. A 300GB bundle may provide more data than a short Wi-Fi-based holiday needs. The main Bali guide covers that lighter travel decision.

What the 300GB plan actually includes

The Asia 5 bundle covers Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Hong Kong. Its 300GB allowance is shared across those destinations for the plan's validity; it is not 300GB per country or per day. The listing supports hotspot and up to 5G where the phone and network allow it. Service ends when the allowance is used or validity expires, and unused data expires.

This country list differs from SEA 5, which covers Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. A Vietnam stop needs a different eligible plan. APAC 15 is another family with its own listed coverage. Check the exact option rather than treating regional names as interchangeable.

For the 300GB product, the Indonesia network list at this review names Smart Fen, XL and Telkomsel. These are listed partners, not a guarantee that every network is selectable everywhere or that indoor coverage will be adequate. Internet routing is also separate from the local radio network: do not assume an Indonesian IP address or a particular latency to an overseas work server.

The two activation clocks on the 300GB bundle

1. Redeem the QR code from your account when ready to travel. The listing gives 30 days after redemption to install and activate.
2. Service begins on activation on a supported destination network. The plan lasts 30 days, with date resets at midnight Taiwan time, UTC+8, as specified in the plan terms.

Bali and Singapore use UTC+8; Java is an hour behind. Follow the written expiry rather than assuming 30 rolling 24-hour periods from an arbitrary activation time. If you connect during a Singapore stopover, the service period can begin there before you reach Bali.

The product allows one installation and cannot be reinstalled after deletion. It does not offer top-up or extension, and its listing says installation-status and data-usage tracking are unavailable. Keep the profile installed when troubleshooting and use device counters for an approximate usage record. Device counters are not a substitute for the provider's billing measurement.

Build a laptop data budget from a normal workday

Measure a representative session with your own call app, camera quality, VPN and file workflow. Record the phone's hotspot counter before and after, including traffic in both directions. Then multiply by working days and add your phone's use.

That example fits within 300GB, but the result changes with your measurements. A video editor uploading 15GB on each of 20 workdays would use 300GB on uploads alone. An allowance that looks large for email can be small for media production.

Why 128kbps is not a work-call fallback

The reviewed unlimited plan provides 6GB total high-speed data, not 6GB per day. After that, its stated speed is 128kbps, equivalent to 0.128 Mbps. It is designed to retain reduced-speed access; it should not be your planned connection for video meetings, large attachments or cloud sync after the threshold.

As a scale check, 10MB at a constant 128kbps takes about 10 minutes 25 seconds in an ideal calculation before overhead or competing traffic. That calculation is not a measured result. It explains why “unlimited” remaining access and enough capacity for work are different questions.

Test the actual workspace and keep a second route online

Before committing to a week of meetings, test inside the room where you will work. Turn Wi-Fi off, connect the laptop to the phone and try a short call with screen sharing, a small upload and your normal VPN. Repeat near the time of your important calls. Download speed alone does not reveal upload performance, jitter or interruptions.

Ask accommodation staff about the fixed connection and a nearby coworking alternative. Two eSIM brands may use the same mobile network, so a second brand does not automatically create an independent backup. Keep the phone charged and ventilated during sustained tethering; heat and battery limits can interrupt a workday even with data remaining.
