China travel eSIM guide
China eSIM for maps, messaging and app-heavy travel
These plans cover mainland China. For an itinerary including Hong Kong or Macau, compare the separate Asia Pacific regional plans and their exact country lists. Mainland China plans that list Singapore internet routing support access to usual international apps on the mobile connection without a separate VPN. Hotel or public Wi-Fi follows its own network restrictions.
Product facts worth comparing
- Data routing
- Mainland China plans marked with Singapore routing use that mobile-data exit. Check routing separately for regional families.
- VPN requirement
- No separate VPN is needed for the usual international apps on the Singapore-routed mobile connection; account, device and service availability still apply.
- Common apps
- Google, WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram are supported through the Singapore-routed connection.

Before choosing a China eSIM
Mainland, Hong Kong and Macau
These mainland China plans do not include Hong Kong or Macau. Compare the separate regional catalogue for a multi-stop itinerary.
Compare Asia Pacific coverageBest for app-heavy trips
Add extra data for translation, train routes, hotel changes, QR bookings, ride-hailing and hotspot use.
No-VPN app access
For plans explicitly listing Singapore routing, the mobile connection supports usual international apps without a separate VPN. This does not change restrictions on hotel Wi-Fi or guarantee every app, account or device.
China eSIM FAQs
Choose a China eSIM by the selected plan's included destinations, data allowance, validity and routing. A mainland-China plan and a regional plan can have different country lists and IP routing. Check the individual plan details before purchase, especially when visiting Hong Kong or Macau as well as mainland China.
