BambooSIM sells travel eSIMs. Our guides use product research and planning examples; field tests are identified explicitly. Our editorial method and corrections policy.

For a trip through Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia, start by checking Cambodia in the selected plan's country list. A regional product labelled “Asia” or “Southeast Asia” does not automatically include all three.

On the BambooSIM Asia Pacific page, checked on 4 November 2026, APAC 15 lists Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia. SEA 5 lists Thailand and Vietnam, but not Cambodia. Asia 5 – 300GB lists Thailand, but neither Vietnam nor Cambodia. These are different products on one page, so changing the plan family changes the route you can cover.

The country check for this itinerary

SEA 5ListedListedNot listedNo; arrange a separate Cambodia connection

This comparison describes published country inclusion, not a field test or a promise of signal at every hotel, road or border crossing. The named options checked are data-only; do not expect a local carrier phone number from the regional product. Recheck the selected offer before paying because inventory and inclusions can change.

For broader combinations, the SEA 5 versus APAC 15 route planner covers the regional choice. Here, the decision is narrower: keeping data available across these three specific countries.

Build the route from dates rather than the regional label

Write down each country, arrival date, departure date and any return visit. Include a stopover if you intend to leave the airport or use mobile data there. Then check every line against the exact plan, rather than adding up how many countries its name advertises.

For example, an illustrative journey might involve five days in Thailand, four in Cambodia and six in Vietnam. The complete journey spans 15 days, but the chosen product's start trigger and validity counting still determine whether it covers the final day. A calendar-day plan and an elapsed-hours plan can end at different times. Check the order's rule instead of treating “15 days” as a universal expiry calculation.

Also consider where you are before departure. APAC 15's checked country list includes Australia. If you are buying from Australia, confirm the installation and activation instructions before enabling the travel line at home. A product covering your departure country may have different timing implications from one that can only connect after arrival overseas.

Compare one regional profile with separate country plans

A suitable regional eSIM reduces the number of profiles and country changes to manage. It can be convenient when the itinerary is fairly evenly divided and mobile data is the main requirement. That convenience does not remove the need to check the allowance, hotspot policy, expiry or supported networks.

Separate plans may suit a journey with a much longer stay in one country, or a requirement for a particular destination-specific feature. Compare Thailand eSIMs and Vietnam eSIMs against the regional option, then arrange Cambodia coverage explicitly. Do not assume a Thailand plan continues working after crossing into Cambodia.

If ordinary calls or a local number matter, investigate that separately. A hotel contact, booking service or verification system may have its own requirements. The Vietnam number versus data-only guide explains why data service and carrier-number service should be compared as different features.

Keep a simple record of which profile to use in each country. Label the lines clearly, save the order instructions offline and avoid deleting an installed profile just because you have temporarily left its coverage area.

Budget data for travel days as well as hotel days

Estimate maps, messaging, rideshare, browsing and any video or laptop use across the entire trip. A short stop with little hotel Wi-Fi can use more of your allowance than a longer stay where you spend most evenings online through accommodation Wi-Fi.

As an illustrative calculation, a budget of 0.5GB per day over 15 days totals 7.5GB. Adding 2GB reserved for shared laptop use gives 9.5GB before any further buffer. These figures are planning inputs, not measured typical consumption or a recommendation of an available bundle. Choose your own inputs with the travel-data calculator.

Check whether the selected allowance is shared across the whole trip, resets daily or has another policy. Do not expect crossing a border to reset the data counter or restart validity. Confirm top-up support before relying on it; otherwise plan how you would purchase another eligible service if needed.

Prepare the connection before a country change

Save the next accommodation address, transport confirmation and relevant map while you have reliable internet. At the next destination, follow the plan's instructions for selecting the correct data line and roaming setting. A regional profile may need time to connect to a supported local network; uninterrupted service during a border crossing is not guaranteed.

If it does not connect, check the exact country inclusion and remaining validity first. Then use the product's network and troubleshooting instructions through the Support Centre. Keep the profile installed while getting help. Buying a different family with a bigger allowance will not solve a missing-country problem unless that new plan actually includes the destination.

FAQs

Does SEA 5 cover Cambodia?

Not in the country list checked on 4 November 2026. SEA 5 includes Thailand and Vietnam, but Cambodia is not listed. Recheck the current selected offer and arrange separate coverage if using SEA 5 on this itinerary.

Can one BambooSIM eSIM cover Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia?

APAC 15 listed all three when checked. Verify the exact current plan's countries, data, validity and activation instructions before purchase. Country inclusion does not guarantee a signal everywhere within that country.

Will my data and validity restart when I cross a border?

Do not assume so. A regional plan follows its own allowance and validity rules across the covered trip. Check whether data is a shared pool or daily allowance and how the provider calculates expiry.
