SKT Unlimited is the South Korea option to look at when you want heavy daily data without watching a usage meter. The Red eSIM and Gold pickup SIM use SK Telecom and are sold with unlimited 4G LTE data, no fair use policy, no daily speed cap, and no throttling during the plan validity.
The part that needs a little planning is the local Korean phone number. A number can be assigned before the voice/SMS side of the line is fully usable. Calls and texts need passport authentication, and ongoing calls or SMS need recharge credit.

For SKT eSIM, the assigned phone number is visible when the QR code details arrive by email. You can keep that number for hotel forms, local bookings, or contacts that ask for a Korean mobile number.
For SKT pickup SIM, the number is confirmed after the physical SIM is collected. That is normal because the product is handed over at the airport desk.
In both cases, seeing the phone number does not mean calls and SMS are already live. Passport authentication has to be completed first.
Authentication is possible with a short-term foreign passport. When prompted, enter the passport details manually on the activation portal. A passport photo upload is not required.
Korean telecom rules allow one passport to be used for one activation per carrier. If you are travelling as a couple or a group, each person should plan to authenticate their own SKT line with their own passport.
If online authentication cannot be completed for your situation, SK Telecom may direct you to an in-person check at an SK Telecom Roaming Desk. Bring the physical passport, not only a scan.
The included 5-minute call is a one-time activation benefit. It is not a daily allowance and it does not mean unlimited calls under five minutes.
After authentication, domestic and international calls/SMS require recharge credit. Recharge is available online through KRSIM and offline at SK Telecom Roaming Desks. BambooSIM does not provide an API-based recharge flow for SKT voice/SMS credit.
SKT sends balance SMS messages when you recharge, when the balance falls below 1,000 KRW, and when it runs out. You can also check real-time balance at skroaming.com.
Buy SKT Unlimited if you want simple, high-allowance Korea data for Seoul, Busan, Jeju, work travel, or a trip where hotspot and maps will be used often. Choose the eSIM if your phone supports eSIM and you want the QR code before you leave. Choose pickup SIM if your device needs a physical SIM or you prefer desk handover.
