For a Windows device with eSIM compatibility:
- Go to Settings.
- Select Network & Internet, then Cellular.
- Under SIM, select Add a SIM.
- Choose Download a SIM instead.
- Scan the QR code or enter the eSIM details manually.
- Follow the on-screen prompts.
If the QR code cannot be used after an earlier installation attempt, check the full installed eSIM list first. The eSIM may already be present, usually near the bottom if it was installed most recently. Its displayed name is not necessarily BambooSIM; a Japan eSIM may appear as KDDI or au.
Settings after installation
- Turn the new eSIM on and select it for cellular data.
- Check the exact product name in your order.
- Apply the product-specific APN settings and Data Roaming settings.
Only legacy eSIMs whose installation instructions specify APN globaldata should use it. Do not change the APN for other products, and do not delete an eSIM while troubleshooting.
